The Southside Community Kitchen serves meals four days a week to anyone hungry in Lansing. We do not have any prerequisites, qualifying questions or documentation. If you are hungry, and in need of a hot meal for any reason, for any length of time, we are here to welcome and serve you with care and respect.
We serve Monday and Wednesday at Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lansing, 5509 S. Pennsylvania, Lansing, MI 48911 from 11:30 - 12:15 p.m.
We also serve Tuesday and Thursday at Galilee Baptist Church, 2511 Reo Road, Lansing, MI 48911 also from 11:30 - 12:15 p.m.
All our meals include at least 4 oz of meat, a serving of fruit and vegetable, a bread, potato or grain, 8 oz of milk and a dessert. Beverages include water, coffee and tea are provided. Monday's we serve vegetarian meals and Wednesday's meals feature Halal meat purchased from our trusted partners at American International Foods.
Please Note: In the event of hazardous weather, we do not serve meals when the Lansing School District is closed due to dangerous weather. Please call our hotline we'll update it if we need to close.
